Bush lied, deliberately, consistently, flagrantly about WMDs in Iraq. Powell isn't going to say anything that flagrant even if he knows it to be true...which he does. You can be gullible but don't be childish.
Well, if you can't 'prove' that someone lied because you can't get into their brain and see their motivation, then the impeachment of Clinton was wrong and much of what passes (LOL) for law 'enforcement' in this country is also wrong.
====================== " Powell has expressed disappointment that, after working to remove dubious claims, the intelligence backing the remaining points of his U.N. speech has turned out to be flawed.
"It turned out that the sourcing was inaccurate and wrong, and in some cases deliberately misleading, and for that I am disappointed and I regret it," Powell said in May."

articles.news.aol.com "When Powell left the Bush administration in January 2005, he was widely seen as having been at odds with Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Vice President Dick Cheney over foreign policy choices.
It was Powell who told the United Nations and the world that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and posed an imminent threat. He told Walters that he feels "terrible" about the claims he made in that now-infamous address -- assertions that later proved to be false.
When asked if he feels it has tarnished his reputation, he said, "Of course it will. It's a blot. I'm the one who presented it on behalf of the United States to the world, and [it] will always be a part of my record. It was painful. It's painful now." |
