I know everyone here so far has adored this movie, and today a review came from a local reviewer. Hard to describe John Garcia- he writes three newsletters a week- one on auditions, one on shows in the area, and one his comments and reviews on theatre from NY to local, plus movies, plus tv shows. I don't know how he does it- plus he has a fulltime job, acts at night, and throws an annual awards ceremony every year to benefit AIDS charities. He often mangles the English language, spelling, grammar, but he is the most sincere, kindest, happiest person I have ever met, and he knows theatre.

He awarded me a Musical Director of the Year a few years ago (gratuitous self-promotion here), but I would like him anyway-When he gave me my award it said Bruce Jones, Best Set Design. OOps, he said- will have to fix that later, but he never did. I framed it anyway. I just tell people sometimes I go by Bruce.

THis is the first A+ I can remember him giving in the several years I've been reading him.

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE: HILARIOUS! HILAROUS! What a breath a fresh air
this one turned out to be after the never-ending summer of big, noisy
blockbusters. All the performances are superb-Toni Collette, Greg
Kinnear, Alan Arkin, Steve Carrell, Paul Dano, and Abigail Breslin-
who could earn an Oscar nod for BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS. This little
girl had me in tears in the scene with granddad at the hotel. And wait
till you see the "talent" number-I thought I was going to pass out
from laughing so hard!

This is not a typical road trip film, but more of how a family is
unraveling emotionally, and yet they show their best when the worst
happens to them-and on this trip a lot of bad –and good-happens to
them.

Everyone in the film is fantastic-even the minor roles (like the lady
managing the registration table at the Pageant). This film his
HYSTERICAL-and will have you also well up in tears several times
throughout the film.

I completely fell in love with that adorable little Breslin-she stole
my heart! ONE OF THE BEST FILMS OF THE YEAR! GRADE: A+
