Glad you liked it.

Did you really want those numbers I got yesterday?

I got them all off of Wikipedia. You just search for "population country" "income per capita" "cost of iraq war" and the answers come up pretty quick, it's great for finding stuff quickly. I had started posting "I don't know how much" then I stopped myself and said why don't I try to find out? The main thing is you can not trust what you read on SI or MSM so I find it is best to use common sense reasonablility checks. Those numbers fit the common sense checks. Iraq is about 1/10 the size of USA population and maybe size tool. It's like CA. Income much less, income is less than a 1/10 $1,700 per capita sounds about right, Africa and others are even less.

KLP, I want to ask you something important. LindyBill has for some reason, God only knows, has been arguing one of the democratic talking points that I ridiculed yesterday. I thought he was a staunch Republican. But he has convinced me, I am almost ready to go down and register as a Democrat! He has convinced me that I was prejudiced against age and sex as regards the military. It has got me thinking about a lot of things that maybe I was wrong about.

What I want to ask you is this:
It's coming up on the anniversary and I remember how terrible those times were. I remember the Anthrax scare, the snipers in DC, and remember looking at those pictures of the 19 @#$&&^&%%!!!!!
I remember wondering who were these terrible people and what would make them do such a thing.
Here I just looked up on Wikipedia who they were:

<According to page 231 of the report, fifteen of the terrorists came from Saudi Arabia. The remaining four came from Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon.

en.wikipedia.org
>

Well I also learned later that Bin Laden was from Saudi Arabia and had been living in Afghanistan.

What shocked me was that Bin Laden is a famous name and some Bin Ladens had hobbed nobbed with the Bushes father and son even visited the ranch in Texas. I threw this off as a "Black Sheep Son". It was a surprising and intriguing story. I was also surprised that a "special" plane was prepared to get the Bin Ladens and their friends out of the country.

WELL ANYWAY HERE IS THE QUESTION:

WERE YOU SURPRISED AS I WAS WHEN PRESIDENT BUSH ANNOUNCED IRAQ WAS ON THE HIT LIST FOR 9/11?????

I remember thinking "Shouldn't we be thinking about Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, or Iran???" "I hope this is not related to the fact that Bush's father was targeted by Saddam"

Then the WMD was pushed and I kind of thought it was bogus, but I let it slide until yesterday. I remember thinking it was kind of a bogus argument, but I put trust in President Bush to do the right thing. I thought maybe after Iraq, we would go after the terrorists where they came from. I hoped that the President's friendship with the King of Saudi Arabia would not deter him in persuing national policy.

Looking back after FIVE years, I am ready starting to wonder.............

Like you I put my faith and trust in President Bush and pushed aside any question of Iraq involvement in 9/11, related to the prior Iraq war, etc. until yesterday.

No wonder the democrats are so pissed.
