I hope you read the blog entry I just posted to you (the whole thing). It helps explain how folks like tej see the world & emotionally react to their faulty perceptions of reality.

Now consider that I've been down this road repeatedly in the past. I try discussing issues from a reality based perspective. I have no aversion to harsh but accurate criticisms, nor do I shy away from occasionally using them when appropriate.

Meanwhile someone like tej, attacks, ridicules & generally responds emotionally with all manner of calumnious epithets not just toward myself, but also at the people being discussed (Bush Admin, etc.). Not only does he blithely ignore all facts & credible evidence presented to counter his opinion on an issue; he is incapable of substantiating his own assertions, including the calumnious epithets.

And one thing that will set me off more than anything is to falsely be called a liar. Worse still, when the assertion is made without any attempt to substantiate it.

At some point I respond with some harsh, but accurate retort & suddenly I am brought to task for my apparent transgression. Not only that, those who bring the charge stood silent the entire time the other guy hurled their invective with impunity.

You'll have to excuse me for accepting that type of criticism with a jaundiced eye. Perhaps you now have a better understanding of my curt reaction to your well meaning attempt at bringing more civility to the debate.
