I'm thinking...self actualization. Possibly, but with a big helping of belonging.

I'm willing to bet that the boys came up with this, putting a lot of peer pressure on the girls.

As I recall my teen years (sigh, fondly), persuading girls to take their clothes off was the acme of self-actualization. :-)

I doubt it's changed much since then.
