Interesting to see how US politics are evolving. It seems that beyond the conventional "liberal/conservative" type split we are more and more seeing a split along the lines of those who ride a wave of money and support from the pro-Israel / pro-war lobby and those who feel these lobbies have gone too far in influencing American policy. Both the Republicans and Democrats are splitting along these lines, although those who are frustrated with the pro-Israel lobby obviously keep their views lower profile so as not to be labelled "antiSemitic". My opinion is that those doing the most damage to the image and interests of Jewish people, those who one might call "antiSemites" themselves, are zealous Jewish subfactions who forcefully pursue getting the US government to act on Israel's behalf, and are too obviously powerful and effective in doing so. Billions provided in aid, military support and loan guarantees to Israel every year, in addition to a foreign policy that almost revolves around Israel's interests and puts the US at odds with much of the world certainly is drawing subtle but noticeable resentment in the US populace, and this resentment appears to be crystallizing, even if those who are glued to the world of Fox News may be oblivious to it all. Newton's third law states "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" and in politics, forces form to oppose policies that have gone too far in one direction.
