Mindmeld, Yes, it could be done in 10-15 years.

Explain to me how we're going to become "energy independent" in 10-15 years if we consume 25% of the world's oil production. It's not going to happen with hybrids and electric cars alone. It's going to take a major change to lifestyles, demographics, economic infrastructures, etc., and that's not going to happen without a minor revolution.
