It looks like a "safe" short, but I don't like the composition and I don't like the beta. I think there are likely much better ways to fade consumer discretionary spending. Look at the holdings: finance.yahoo.com There are a few poster children of the consumer debt binge in there, but I don't have a gut feel on about half of them. I'm not sure how "discretionary" some of them really are. BC
