i didn't think it was too pessimistic. we realize the car industry is run to make a product that the public demand. Its nonsense about democrats or republicans mandates for better mileage. you do not see those laws being passed because congress want to remain in washington. higher gas prices will force people to smaller cars or cars with better mileage , same with public transportation. I am not sure $6. is the price it will happen it will happen depending on each persons spendable income. I loved the buggy, kero lamp, etc. used to go downeast back home decades ago and i am greatful for those memories.g windpower,, you cannot even get through liberal ma. kennedy and his power has been fighting it for a few years now to avoid running his sunset.
