Excuses? I don't think so. Reasons. I post reasons, and people tell me they are "excuses". Look, let me make this clear, if I had my way no one who was not prepared to raise a child themselves, and was capable of raising one well, would have a child. But I know I do not make the rules, and the rules such as they are, are against me, and against children. In an imperfect world where parents as I said are AWOL (does that sound like I'm making excuses?) I choose to aim for the best protection of children we can. The state, imo, is better than nothing. You can certainly argue the state is not better than nothing- but practically we aren't going to be able to force parents to do much. The reason for that is that many of them are overcommitted at work- but that's a reason, not an excuse. Amazing you managed to work in Clinton. Jokes like that I'd rather pass on. You'd be better off posting them to someone who already agrees with you, since they are the only ones who will see the "humor". As I'm sure you know.
