Whatever happened to the Democratic Party of Scoop Jackson and Sam Nunn? Those type politicians are not welcome there anymore. (See Joe Libermann.) In an article I read that I can't find, the McGovern campaign allowed the hard left of the Democrats to take over the party, and the party has continued its far left leanings ever since. Personally, I have voted for Democrats in the past, but no more. Until this party makes a conscious effort to change its stripes, I will not vote for another one.
