Peter, There is no way I could consider a windmill in this area, but have seen hundreds in the Mojave desert in California. They are not, however, owned by individuals so it probably was tax money that paid for them. In Florida solar panels would work well if they were properly secured. A hurricane could make a mess out of them, and the parts flying in the wind could kill people.
