I'm only part way through, but Fiasco is a very very good book. It has many details in it I did not know about, and it puts details I did know about, in to a kind of "super context"- where all the information is pulled together in a coherent time line. This is just an excellent book. You will want to read this, I'm sure of it.

I think you are right that there is nothing new theme wise, but that's what makes it so interesting, in a way. Wolfowitz, for example, was really fighting Hitler, not Saddam. When you read the first part of the book I'm sure you'll be struck by the fact that the man was so obsessed with the past, he couldn't see the present clearly. It's just fascinating. I hope you read it soon, so you can tell me what you think of it.
