how does the author know that the top 1% are changing each year? The same way I know that the sun will rise tomorrow morning. Its almost as certain. Changing doesn't mean turning over entirely. Over half of them could be the same from year to year but the group is not identical each year. Sorry, Tim, that's just not true. Besides being intuitively obvious, there has been research in to how much social mobility there is. Even those who try to downplay it, admit it happens. Claiming otherwise is ridiculous. Social mobility is another urban myth. Its the rare person who goes from rags to riches in this country.
