I thank you, my children thank you, and my children's children thank you.

My parents started growing most of our food when I was a kid, because their parents did. It certainly is easier and better than putting poison on a useless lawn. Properly maintained cars should last for most of your life, and i also have several bicycles. At some point Americans need to centralise their lives, live closer to where they work, and put a garden in their back yards. I started to really get concerned when i realised that although we grow peaches here, the peaches in the store came across the continent to the store. And frankly bringing asparagus from poland to my store is just nutz. Same with new Zealand lamb... lamb chops from half a planet away is just plain dumb. Last week bananas were 3 pounds for a buck, and they travelled thousands of miles. If we had a paralyzing event, most people will starve. I already bought next years seeds BTW..... If you want your children to thank you, teach them how to grow tomatoes and potatoes, and garlic.
