Yes, everybody has got different aptitudes and interests, also varying amounts of time to spend ... there have been periods when i spent the majority of time studying up and squinting at charts, on first getting a computer in the nineties for example ... but not lately, got a kid now, work that comes in with zero notice, tag ends of business deals, detail on business to be - there are always three other things to do at the same time, at least ... one thing that can help is full stockwatch with all the portfolios, but so far i've avoided that because it tends to lose me in all the minutiae ... just haven't got enough personal discipline, maybe ... years ago we just made decisions, bought stock, and then checked up on them using 24-hour delayed quotes in the newspapers, that wasn't such a bad system
The basket thing, i do that too sometimes, like with the mexican silver plays now ... but there is always a favourite or two that greatly outweigh the others .... also in nickel, i've got far more bmc.v than lbe.v, this is not working so well because through neglect of due diligence [ahem] i completely missed the acceleration clause in that warrants release .... six point something millions shares coming at us, i'm thinking about dumping into the bid right now at an eight-cent loss .... probably won't though, tend to just shrug and ignore them for months when this happens ... you think they'll promo bmc enough to soak up all that paper? ... cheers |
