Ramsey, these things you are calling "whole loans", are they just individual loans the lenders unload? why would they do that vs. securitization (or conversely, why would anybody buy the whole loans if the MBS are safer)? which one is worse for the lenders? presumably the MBS since the lenders are on the hook for defaults forever?

if that is the case why don't they just unload everything as whole loans?
