The 800K notebooks was for the April-June period, 3 mos, not 6 mos. This was reported in Apple's june quarter afterall.

Maybe the Gartner numbers (12%) are for a 6-mos period, but even then it was back end loaded.<<

You are right. That article was indeed poorly written. If Apple had only shipped 800k notebooks in the first six months of this year, they wouldn't have been reporting blowout earnings.
