I have no idea if the models being tested are earthquake proof. It is possible to build unit that are not but VRB's battery configurations can be made earthquake proof without significant added cost. Of course, if the ground opens up and it falls into a crevice, all bets are off. It could then cause some minor contamination since the electrolyte is sulfuric-acid based. However, you can stick your hand in it and not get burned as long as your wash is off.

Sensitivity to earthquakes is not going to determine the suitability of the technology for uses in Alaska.
