Do I really need to explain the obvious to these people?
Some of them? Apparently. Say, the case that spent his family's health insurance money on remodeling, then squawks for national health insurance to cover him for his idiocy.

We did that for decades. Still do, actually, but after decades of taking advantage of the savings offered this way, not squandering money on the most popular clothes (Goodwill? Salvation Army?) or the most popular records, then CDs (hey, you can wait a while and get these things REAL CHEAP), we have accumulated enough that we can afford the big seats on airplanes and stay in Hyatts, Hiltons, and Raddisons and still not worry about running out of money while we are alive.

In the long run, it DOES pay off.
