There are many pro-war rightwingers. Ollie North is one. The smearvets you mentioned are the type who actually love carnage and bloodshed. They didn't want Vietnam to stop. They don't want Iraq to stop. They want to invade Iran and Syria and create a "world war". During the Cold War there were also many foolish rightwingers who wanted to attack the Soviet Union and/or China.

These are some of the most dangerous people in the US, because if they get into power -- wait a second, they ARE in power. And look at what they brought us in Iraq? Oue entire military bogged down in a Waterloo type fool's mission.
