So the problem has got to be their culture and their religion, which is the basis of their culture.

Fundamentalism will do that to you. Just look at what the Christian fundamentalists try and do in the US to everything from teaching evolutionary science in the classroom to stemcell and AIDS research.

They used to be into just book burning but now they're going after R&D.
