Jimmy Carter is a great statesman and was right about Iraq. Carter established the Camp David accords which more than any diplomatic move helped bring relative peace to the Middle East for many years. Bush has done nothing beneficial of this kind, in fact almost no diplomacy whatsoever over there. His Roadmap to Peace was just a catchy name and photo op. And now we pay the price. Also Carter paved the way to end the Cold War, his SALT II talks really melted the ice so that Reagan could come in and claim credit. Actually the most credit goes to Gorbachev.

Carter is also the only truly christian president we have seen in our lifetimes. Bush certainly is NOT. All talk, no good works, strictly pandering to the far rightwing religious nuts. Carter never pandered, was just quietly a very real Christian in the best sense of the word.
