eCBOT Resuming After Unexpected Close

August 25, 2006 4:37 p.m.

CHICAGO (Dow Jones)--The Chicago Board of Trade's e-CBOT electronic platform host "unexpectedly closed" Friday afternoon, the exchange said, marking the second time this month that the e-CBOT platform shut down. A CBOT spokeswoman said that the e-CBOT system lost its connection at 2:40 p.m. EDT. She said the connection to the host has been re-established and the exchange is in "pre-opening" mode as it allows traders to re-establish order books. A staggered open was to begin at 4:00 p.m. EDT as products are re-opened one-by-one, the spokeswoman said.
