If your talking about making a transition over multiple generations than fine. Such a long transition will still have costs but they will be lower, and spread out over time, so they will be manageable.

But than I'm not sure you are really disagreeing with anything I've posted. And concerns like "the bill for Iraq" that AS was talking about will have little claim to relevance.

I haven't said "We must use oil forever" or anything like that.
