Buddha Skoota,

You certainly have a nice places to ride. Are those rolling beige hills covered with wheat?

It looks like I will be getting a motorcycle soon.
Its an old Jap bike from the 1970s. I don't know many details about it other than seeing my uncle sitting on it in his garage when I was a kid.

My Uncle Jerry used to give me his old copies of Cycle World Magazine when I was young (and I had a small dirt bike). I'd cut out the pictures of the motocross dudes and other cool bikes and tape them to my walls of my bedroom. He also had given me a stars and stripes helmet that looked like Evel Kinevel's.

Anyhow, Uncle Jerry passed away a few years back. My aunt called me and told me she was going to be getting rid of that old motorcycle and asked me if I wanted it. It has been hard for her to part with it because the two of them rode all over on it together. I figured it would be easier for her to let go of it, if I took it. I figure I will fix whatever is wrong with over the winter and take it for occasional rides or whatever. If I gett it running right and shined up, perhaps I will someday give it to Uncle Jerry's grandsons or something like that.

It hasn't been rode on in years and I imagine it will need a lot of things replaced. If my memory serves me well I am thinking it is possibly a 1976ish Kawasaki 1100 or something. I dunno why that sticks in my mind. I'll let you know next week when I pick it up with my trailer.

Have you ever trailered a bike?

Is there anything special to do when tying it down with straps and bungees?
