Market Fragments: Many Bulls were not positioned for yesterday's rally. This is why I'm looking for a little more upside early this morning as some underinvested bulls buy out of fear of missing out on a further rally. This is an extremely dangerous time of the year. Strong rallies on light volume during the dog days of August have a history of abruptly reversing to the downside on heavy volume in September. Those who pounce on opportunities to sell short here will likely be amply rewarded as the September/October massacre unfolds. The Bond market is betting on an extremely weak economy moving forward, with low inflation. The stock market is betting that its Savior, Helicopter Ben, will sheild them from all danger and save them from the kind of serious losses that result from speculative recklessness. Not very wise.
