I agree that the housing economy has hit a berg, the question is: Will there be other areas to pick up the slack?

As you know I work in Printed Circuit Board Industry.

Right now in North America business is generally pretty good. We are going to have our second best year, our best was 2000 (Sept2000-Aug2001) with the second half of that year being much slower.

So how many other industries are feeling the same thing? Not sure, but I can tell you (as I speculated here some 6mths ago) it seems like the easy money is now being given to mfg'ing businesses. Many of the deals for equipment we have been doing is with bank financing, where in the past banks would not give these mfg'ers the time of day let alone a line of credit for equipment purchases...
