Dont blame you for not going to COSTCO if they play those shenanigans.

I didn't mean to suggest any shenanigans. Sorry about leaving the wrong impression. Costco doesn't charge for parking. They have a lot and it's free.

But it's woefully inadequate. The Costco nearest me is in a city setting. That's just the way life is in the city. I've been in the lot. You can get in if you're there when they open on a Sunday morning. I wouldn't expect to find a space at any other time. There's a large garage on the next block, which is where I would likely end up paying to park were I to shop at Costco. Which would be a real problem if I had a lot of purchases to schlep to the garage so it pretty much rules out buying more than a few items.

When we think of Wal-Mart or Costco, we think of huge plants surrounded by huge parking lots. This one is different. I don't know why they would build there. I guess you could look at it as a public service given that cities don't usually have opportunities to shop at those stores. It's located at a subway stop so it's available to lots of people who don't even have cars. But I can't imagine taking home one of their huge bags of frozen chicken breasts on the Metro. That's even more offputting than paying to park. <g>
