Tom,

I was very disappointed with Dark Reign. I stated my
reasons already. I returned it and bought Total Annihilation.
Within the first minute of playing Total Annihilation I
knew that it was a better game than Dark Reign. I stumbled
through the first game (modem) and liked it alot (Lost the
game though). The second game we played we really got into
it with one of the HUGE multiplayer maps (32 megs required.
These maps are at least 4x bigger than the largest Red Alert
maps). The game is awesome!!! I believe it will be the best
real time strategy game of the year. This game will make
rave reviews like the ones created by Warcraft II and C&C
Red Alert. What I also like about Total Annihilation is the
ability to download new units (although the games comes with
150 already!!!).

Well to not have this post be totally negative for ATVI,
I have already reserved my copy of Quake II. I did play the
demo of Hexen II and liked it. However, I haven't purchased
it because it really would be much faster if I had a 3D
accelerator card. Waiting for the Monster 3D II using the
Voodoo II chipset (Dec time frame). Since Quake II is
Win 95 compatable, hoping DirectX can limp me along untill
the Monster II come out.
