But the US opening a dialogue with any other country usually ends up costing the US money. The US simply wants no part of any more neurotic Muslims, screaming about death. And Iran has not shown itself to be rational enough to hold nuclear weapons.

But I see no reason for the US to be involved, Iran needs to deal with the UN, or face UN sanctions. And it will be up to the Un to decide on and enforce those sanctions. Having attacked the US Embassy in Iran, I suspect that iran needs to understand it broke any chance of Diplomatic relations with the US. At least while the Clerics run Iran. Not that it not their right to run their country, it is. But it is the right of the US to not deal with them as well.

As for Israel, Iran has ranted against israel for years, Of course Israel is worried about iran with a bomb. Iran has created the situation where they are mistrusted. No one else did it, now iran needs to find a way for iran to mend it's fences. It is not up to the US, it is completely up to iran to make it's path.
