Assuming it was generally a blunder, and that it was 100% elective, that still doesn't make for a colossal blunder on the scale you have been talking about. I've listed very elective blunders with far more dire consequences than Iraq.

Now remember, dropping "the worst of all time", doesn't mean you have to drop your argument that it was a horrible blunder. Moving back to that contention puts you on ground that you can at least hope to defend.
