Statesmanship is not needed for dealing with terrorists. What really hurts our county is most Democrats voting against legislation that would help protect it. Bipartisanship on this issue would not look good to fellow party members. Trying to gain power back comes first. It would be seen by them as reinforcing the party in power. Just after 911. The time Bush started his campaign against terrorism. He had the support of the majority of voters.
He could have stuck to the economy and made himself look better to the voters. Instead he stuck to his guns on dealing with terrorism to keep America safe at home. I sure don't want this country to go through what Israel has gone through in dealing with terrorism. They are good at it, because they are used to dealing with it on a frequent basis. I never want to see that frequency here. When someone comes up to my door to preach their religion to me. I want to continue as I have. By politely saying I'm am not interested, because I'm strong in my own beliefs. Not someone pointing a gun at my head telling me Islam or else.
