My own present take is the same as Olbermann stated in his soliloquy, patriotism is an act of criticism, suppression of criticism is the problem.

Those that oppose Bush are forced into this position. Otherwise, there is no where to go.

BTW, I doubt if you can give the thread a specific example where Bush personally suppressed criticism of himself or his presidency. Give it a try. I am happy to learn.
