Why is it that you don't hope any Muslim will attempt to solve this.

The encouraging comments were from Muslims. I was hoping the main western external power players (both the USA & Britain have substantial troops in the ME, and both have espoused a rather radical agenda for remaking the ME, including periodic rumbles about attacking additional countries there) would use this as an opening to drive a wedge for peace. If any Muslim country were currently in the position of the USA or England in the ME, I would certainly hope they would join the process as well.

PS. Iran is not in this class BTW, although their loud mouthed Pres might think so.
