Maoism was a crazy cult religion and after mao died chou and teng moderated a lot. In iran there is also a crazy cult religion in charge but after mao khomeni died we got mullacracy and a new leader who is an apocolyptic nutcase. Who will arise to change things there? In the china case they chose capitalism, globalism and a bit of democracy. In iran they have a bit of democracy but eschew capitalism and globalism for the time being OR are they just looking to trade away their radicalism for entree into the cap/glob system needing full US recognition and a removal of existing restrictions. To me, it is clear that this is a diplomatic situation we face. Would be nice to get the new pres out of the way though because he is a scary figure.
