I had to go back and look. I was so thrown off by your question that I lost it.

What i said was israel has three choices: to continue to simply react to aggression, to make peace (least likely because there is no interest) or to go on the offensive, to become the aggressor in the war.

To date israel normally is reactive, somebody fires some missile, israel goes and beats them up. someone digs a tunnel and kidnaps an Israeli Israel goes and beats someone up. This is ineffective and since there seems to be no movement towards peace, simply takes too long.

This is what Israelis are questioning. Should Israel be more aggressive. Should they for instance go into Palestine and have an all out war before hamas is as well armed as Hizbollah. Should they be maintaining a ceasefire that none of the lebanese ever intended to stick to, when Hizbollah is already hurt, and not going in now means that Hizbollah will rearm and be ready for them...... Of course that means that the Military will take complete control over the war including the time to start it and how to proceed with it. But that will mean deciding that not a thousand but thousands of Muslims must die. So I believe that if Abbas or someone could come up with even a beginning peace proposal Israel would grab it. Providing it agrees to Israels right to exist. I think Palestine could get land back as far as the 1967 war, possibly with UN peace Keepers in between at first, but I think they would prefer that to going to war with Palestine.
