When people say that Israel is illegitimate, that Israel shouldn't exist, then, yeah, for some reason Israelis and those who sympathize with them think that this is a non-starter for negotiations.

I'm not saying this applies just to Israel, all 'countries' are in the same boat. Their ability to keep their borders and stay united depends on convincing people - both inside and outside - that this is a good idea.

Amazingly the party that agreed to compromise was the one who was late to the party but wanted someone else's meal.

Imagine that.
