Peter, I remember when Rather was a roving TV reporter for the CBS local channel in Houston, and was at a function when he started spewing out some similar things that got his ass thrown off the air. He was never like any other Texan I ever knew, and didn't belong around men that knew what they were saying. Who bit him in the ass, I do not know, but he was never an honest, or decent, reporter in any job that he ever held. He never would have made it to the network if he hadn't planted himself in the path of hurricane Carla, and was heard to say that it would get him to NY or kill him. Unfortunately, he lived.
