How exactly are you defining these threatened (or already expanded) roles? Where would you have stopped the women's rights movement to save your desired status quo?

I am sure you aren't saying that women need to return to being chattel, but are you saying that because things feel unstable or you (and while I think many things are in bad shape- I would point a finger at many other factors than women gaining rights) you blame women's struggle for partial biological and economical freedom as the root of this?

Warning: I have recovered two of my Jungian texts. I took a Jungian course 40 years ago- it now looks like Greek to me, though. I think it did then, too.
What comes immediately back is his emphasis on integration and the images from the "collective unconscious"- which I would guess is what you are drawing on for your archetypcal reference- that men have this collective idea of "woman" and that women shouldn't mess with it. He actually has a great deal to say about the roles of anima and animus in all of us and it is not at all a simple- me man, you woman image. You are correct that if your life is presenting your unconsciousness with something that is deviating to far from its archetype, it causes a lot of stress. However, you can also make efforts to bring the unconscious into the conscious and resolve it.
