Everyone thinks the other guy is being irresponsible with their mortgages....I expect there will be a number of bad examples, but the sky won't fall.

I guess these unqualified people shouldn't buy real estate - even when things make it an almost one sided bet.

The morality play outcome, where the bad home buyers get punished, may or may not happen.

There is still considerable immigration into the US, and some organic population growth.

A decline in the US Dollar would also make US real estate more attractive to many people in Latin America and other unstable places.

These two factors could keep real estate from sliding too much.
