If you look at the position the US had taken on Iran with any sort of objective perspective, you will note that we would get an F for diplomatic capability. I would say at this point that the US is primarily to blame for the lack of talks with Iran. This is not to say that Iran is being in any sense helpful. But we are not at the point where the US has done its part to initiate talks. The Bolton approach will lead us where the Bush-Cheney approach took us with Iraq.
