"If the Bushies think this fight in the ME is as serious as WWII, then why the blooming heck aren't they beating the drums everyday for more troops?" Yeah! In WWII, Roosevelt not only raised ALL taxes, the income tax rate on the wealthy was 90%! No one could buy a car, because the factories were producing military vehicles. Kids went around collecting metal to turn into airplanes and tanks. You couldn't even buy coffee. The reason Bush ISN'T doing this is the whole "IslamoFascist", "this is like the fight against Hitler" line of warmongering, fearmongering propoganda is a lie, and Bush and Rummy know it. What it's like is Vietnam. It's a minor quagmire war they never intended to still be fighting at this time, but their incompetent bungling has us stuck on their stupid hubris, while Americans die and we squander hundreds of billions of dollars.
