Sigh! Can we join the real world for a second please? We are talking about a medical license renewal for someone who has not practiced in a long time & has no indication he will any time soon. We are talking about one incident where clearly a mistake was made, yet it was Senator Frist & his staff who noticed the mistake & immediately took action to correct the situation & accept personal responsibility. We are talking about a CPE "shortfall", not an intentional case of complete non-compliance. The words, "apparently unaware" in a letter sent by Frist's lawyer really does make it clear the staffer was, "apparently unaware" the requirement had changed. There is ZERO conflicting information that the staffer knew, or should have known as the notifications were sent to Senator Frist, not the staffer. << "Typically with board implementation of a new continuing education policy, the board works with licensees and allows them time to comply rather than take immediate disciplinary action," Turner said. She said Frist is being treated "as we would treat anyone else in this situation." >> Obviously this situation has happened before & the Dept of Health was already prepared with a policy to handle all those instances where there is non-compliance with a new regulation. If this is any indication of the worst we can expect from Senator Frist & his staff, I will sleep peacefully at night knowing that I have little to worry about. And considering that this is the only "newz" worthy mistake about the "blunders" by Frist, I simply am at a loss why you are so exercised at this time.
