Tom, your suggestion reminds me of the guy who changed the formula for coke-lol. This thread is working almost perfectly. Tom ,many people like myself only post on one primary thread. I/we do this so we have a central location where we can give notice to our friends good or bad on a moments notice; and likewise receive information on a moments notice. This thread seems to me to be working fine for all sorts of traders and investors. It is being used as a central location for ideas in a fast moving market with a large group of knowledgable people. It is your thread, so you get to make the rules, but do you really want to constrain people's thinking? As I have mentioned, in a market like this there is a specific way to invest to maximize ones investment. The way the thread is working right now facilitates that. If you change it you will reduce most peoples profits and IMO, be making a tactical error. e.g. as the market moves through certain cycles one does best to follow the cycles: i.e. majors, big juniors, juniors, exploration. As the metals make a move up, consolidate and then move up again, the cycle will keep repeating itself. e.g. as a metal is consolidating the majors will stop moving (they can be quantified to a certain degree), but the juniors will keep moving. So to not adjust ones holdings accordingly is not alwasy the best move. And the massive amount of drilling and company consolidation requires quick moves for optimizing profits and minimizing losses. If people are forced to disperse to many threads then the effectiveness of this thread will be greatly diminished. e.g. if onepath or marcos or claude or ec see soemthing interesting, they know they can come here post it and immediately many of their friends will be able to both take advantage of that knowledge or double check the information. Sometimes decisions have to be made in minutes. I know if this thread is constrained to a couple of long term holds I will need to move on as I beleive that is the wrong way to maximize this market. And I only like using one or two threads for most of my posting, so I know where everyone is. Bob Bishop once wrote a very good article explaining exactly what I posted above. Cheers
