I am figuring simply that "this time will not be different" and the debacle will see stuff going 40% below replacement cost, because we do not have a first order real estate pricing bubble; we have a first order lending bubble.

If expectation and reality of USD decline conditions meet, then long rates will rise, whatever the FED rate does, and that should be an interesting show, as the refinancing (to short rate) and arbitrage flows might get large again, offering even better bets with more certainty of a fitting end-game.

i am just not convinced that USD will drop in the short term, else I would have decamped CAD for Euro and minor European monies.
