Because the pro-Syrian government let them.

So I guess we'll never hear you squeal again about how the Iraqi government, elected by some 11 million Iraqis, is still "occupied" by the Coalition forces.

At least Bush has stated that we'll leave the minute the Iraqi government asks us to. And secondly, instead of keeping Iraq dependent upon the coalition, we're training as many Iraqis as are willing, to be police and soldiers, so they can preserve their own sovereignty.

And speaking of sovereignty, at least we recognize the government of Iraq (as do many other countries now).

Syria HAS NEVER recognized the government of Lebanon. In fact, Syria still claims Lebanon is part of "greater Syria".

So how can the Syrians be "invited" to come in when it's apparent they've been so active in undermining the government.

And lest you try and ignore it, the Syrians were only one part of the international peace-keeping mission to Lebanon. Of course, this didn't prevent the Syrians from then supporting attacks on the other peace-keeping participants so that they would be left to dominate the country for themselves.

Hizbollah wants Israel to release thousands of Arab prisoners in its jails, including Lebanese, in return for the two soldiers.

Notice how your sources fail to mention how many actual Lebanese prisoners are in Israeli jails? Instead, they claim that Hizbullah wants thousands of Arabs, "including Lebanese", released.

When the actuality, according to the Israelis, and never denied by Hizbullah, is that they only have 3 Lebanese prisoners.

The source said Israel wanted to ensure any prisoner swap would be seen as a gesture to Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and not taken as a victory by Hizbollah.

I'd be surprised to see Olmert release thousands of Arabs in exchange for those two soldiers. They will likely release the two Lebanese they already agreed to, but that third one is going to be a major issue, given the heinous nature of his crime (butt-stroking a 4 year old child to death).

So the occupation of Sheeba Farms is an act of war against Syria. Excellent. Thanks for your cooperation.

Uh.. hello McFly... anyone in there??!! Syria and Israel have been in a state of war since 1967. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

Where do you get your depth of historical knowledge.. Cliff notes, or Cue Cards?

Hezbullah vs. Hizbullah? I see it both ways.

It's actually Hizb'allah. All I did was eliminate the E's and O's.. The latest standards, and certainly the one the Government is supposed to use, follows a simple rule. "C.O.P.E". None of those letters should be in a Arabic to English transliteration.

As for your going both ways.. No need for you discuss this in public...
