e,
I thought it was a very good fight. Think about what could have been if both were in top shape. I had Toney winning the fight by two rounds -- three with the point deduction. Peter did better than I expected and he was able to land flush on Toney quite a few times. Peter even found Toney with the jab a few times so I'll have to take issue with Toney that he took everything away from Peter. Toney's jab was superb and his combination punching is terrific for a heavyweight in today's day and age.

I particularly missed CompuBox in this fight. I know that Toney made Peter miss an awful lot and I would have liked to see how many punches a round each fighter was throwing. I think the judges incorrectly rewarded Peter for ineffective aggression in this fight as Toney controlled the geography of the fight and I think he far out-landed the Nigerian Nightmare.

The consequences of the fight are good for all concerned. Peter has come through the fire of Klitschko and Toney and is proving to be a viable contender with a future. Toney acquitted himself well and is still in the mix as a top ten heavyweight although time is running out.

Bruce
