Bush is hurting the GOP by parroting the same old lies about Saddam and Iraq being the same as the war on terror. What he's really saying is "OK, I lied my ass off and totally botched this war, but now that I've made such a mess if we pull out too fast it might get even worse". But he doesn't know that, and nobody really believes he knows what he's talking about, or that he is being honest. In fact, many former supporters are realizing Bush is the worst commander in chief we've ever seen and that his party is riddled with high-level corruption and incompetence. I predict that those GOP congressmen who run against GW Bush will fare the best. Those who don't will lose unless they're in very red districts.
