Wish you guys and gals would read Barrons this week
(don't actually buy it)

One of the topics is the mid-year thinking of 12
ANALYSTS (Abbey Cohen is one) with respect to the 2nd Half for stocks .....

bottom line ... 6% to 10% growth ....
EDIT
S&P 500

Salient Points:

(a) Inflation will ABATE (thats an E.C. type word) going
forward (i.e. diminsh)

(b) Subdued gains in stocks for 2nd half but a BIG RALLY
for stocks (because of (a)) in 2007 ....

(c) The place to be is Big PHARM and Big CAPS ....
With a smidgeon for financials and tech - too ....

(d) Corp Earnings are running AHEAD of the stock prices
and so stock prices have to catch up ....

(e) The USA economy is OK ....

If I landed from Mars and read this I would conclude ...

(a) No housing problem and hence no American consumer
problem ....

(b) No housing collapse .... and potentially a
derivatives blow-up .... iow - the INVENTORY (growing) OF USA
houses can be ignored .... as well as the mortgage holders ...

(c) No mention of Fed deficits ....

(d) PMetals (I guess) really don't exist because the dollar
is solid ....

(e) Ben is free to do as he sees fit .... w/o concern
for rising inflation on the one hand .... and being
forced to raise rates which could tip us over the
edge on the other hand .....

Maybe I am hanging out in the wrong place ....

regards,
John
